During the fall 2014 semester, as a student in Preparing Tomorrow’s Faculty, a free not-for-credit program for graduate students at University of Central Florida, I (Richard Thripp) developed the following items for my teaching portfolio:
While I have not taught in public schools or higher education, I have tutored math, English, and GRE prep, as well as being a “supplemental instruction leader” for a college class called Survey of Biology (BSC 1005) in 2009, so I have some experience working with students. I am also President of Port Orange Toastmasters, effective 7/01/2015, and have given many speeches.
As of October 2015, I am planning to complete an M.A. in Applied Learning & Instruction in spring 2016 at University of Central Florida. My Capstone project will be developing an online course titled “Introduction to Personal Financial Literacy.”
