Local Search

By Richard X. Thripp at 2008-07-08T22:54:16Z in News, with these tags: blogs, pages, posts, search, jump to comment form. 115 words.

While we’ve had sitewide search in the sidebar, through Google, for a while, for the first time you can search just a specific blog. There’s a box below the RSS feeds in every blog’s sidebar that says “Search Here.” Enter some text and then click to search just that blog. This is not done through Google but on the site’s end, so there’s no highlighting or bolding of text. Here’s an example search: registration on this blog. When you search, there’s a tip on using the browser’s find feature at the top of the page, and a box to search again at the top and bottom.

The search works on posts, pages, titles, and tags. Enjoy!
