Okay, so the caching I implemented yesterday is working great. 1000 thripp.com pages are in the cache now, and it really speeds up the site and reduces bandwidth and load on my server.
Unfortunately, the views and unique views stats don’t work on cached pages. My count was way down, because it only counts the page once, but not on cached hits. I’ve taken the stats away for now, because caching is more important. Sorry about this.
FireStats is the caching software I was using. Feel free to comment if you know something that will work with fully cached (HTML) pages. Wordpress.com stats is good, but it’s just for single blogs, not a whole network, unfortunately. I’ll find something, or we’ll just have to live without stats. You know your blog’s popular if you’re getting lots of comments, at least.
